To escape the hustle and bustle of urban cities’ life and to seek for tranquility,
the Mekong Delta is such an ideal place.
This delta is well-known as a rice bowl of
Vietnam, which contributes the biggest part in making it in the top 5th world rice exporters.
Dominated by the lowest tributaries of the mighty Mekong, this land is a water world, comprised of low-lying paddies and rivers bordered by dense mangroves and palms, and famous for many early-morning floating markets.
The Mekong provides a great chance to observe and learn about Vietnamese tradition and local life thru rural daily routine.
With an immense, interlacing network of channels and canals, boat trips will offer passengers a real insight into the local's life on water.
Due to flat topography from Saigon, you will hardly find excursions to towering mountains like those in the North, though
the Mekong delta trips to
Vinh Long,
Can Tho, Sa Dec, Tra Vinh and especially the night in
Chau Doc before crossing over to
Cambodia will be memorable experiences with numerous activities in each destination.
If you are able to book early, let get a deluxe river-cruise linking Saigon and Phnompenh which will be another great selection for high-class relaxation and enjoyment.
