After breakfast, you’ll depart to “The land of coconut” Ben Tre, a province nestled between two main branches of the Mekong River’s largest tributary, which diverges the land to three large islets and creates a fertile agricultural region. At Huu Dinh hamlet, you’ll get on a tri-motor cycle (xe loi) and have a glimpse at peaceful rural scenery with endless rice paddies and fruit orchards before arriving at the waterfront, where the charming Mango Cruise awaits to take you along the river. Have a sip of Ben Tre’s famous specialities coconut juice as you enjoy the tranquillity of the Mekong Delta. You’ll get to know more about local people with visits to a coconut processing factory, a traditional brick kiln, a rice noodles factory, explore the narrow village roads on your bike and have a taste of tropical fruits and honey tea Mrs Huong’s home - a local farmer who lives on fishing, shrimp and farming.
You’ll then take a rowing sampan to discover the maze of small canals. After returning to your boat, you’ll head to Mango Home restaurant for a 5-course lunch and freshen up. Your next destination will be the house of Mr. Sau Tuong, a former soldier who fought two years against the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. You’ll have a chat with him and taste the crispy rice paper made by his wife, then continue to see a famous sticky rice maker nearby. In the afternoon, your car will take you back to Ho Chi Minh City where you’ll spend the night.
