Visitors from far away cities should go by plane and will arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.
There are many taxi rides with about one hour traveling time, providing a trip directly to Vung Tau.
For travelers on a budget, Phu Hai company offers direct buses departing from the domestic terminal parking lot.
The price for an one-way ticket is around VND 100,000 and it takes 2-2,5 hours to get there.
If you are already in the city, there are buses leaving from Mien Dong Bus Station.
They operate on a daily basis and come in big or small vehicle sizes. The ticket price is about VND 80,000 with a traveling time of 2,5-3 hours.
Going by boat is another option to save time. Ho Chi Minh City Cruise Port Terminal provides high speed ferries with a journey time of 1,5 hours.
A ticket will cost around VND 300,000 and it is the fastest way of transport.
