The province of Preah Vihear in the north of Cambodia is largely determined by two main attractions: the historically and artistically very valuable temple complex Prasat Preah Vihear and the dispute over this region, on which this temple stands.
Prasat Preah Vihear temple complex towers on the hill at 700 meters.
It was built in the 10th to the 12th century, when the early Khmer people were still Hindu.
Several relevant temples are to be found here, which have so far attracted a number of tourists.
Koh Ker- the short-lasting old capital of the Khmer Empire is a 40-meter-high pyramid divided into seven levels.
In addition, Preah Khan approximately 25 square kilometers and the tourism have not been largely exploited.
Many small ruins in the jungle are hardly ever visited and wait to be discovered.
Moreover, the landscape in this province is absolutely attractive and inviting thanks to the new road network to enjoyable trips off the beaten tourist routes.

1. Food & Drink
Tourism in Preah Vihear has not been developed, hence, the choice of accommodation, restaurants and entertainment are very limited and often fall short of expectations.
However, for travelers who want to discover the serene Prasat Preah Vihear and its surrounding rural area, we make some suggestions on what you can possibly eat during your stay.
Prawn soup
Prawn soup is a vibrant Cambodian-style coconut prawn soup with coconut milk, green beans and tomatoes, flavored with lemongrass and fresh turmeric.
These added ingredients do not only bring the dish a bright fragrance but also better taste.
Such a dish may remind you of Thai soup, but Cambodia soup is more subtle and not that spicy hot.
Khmer-style baguettes
Khmer-style baguettes are actually present in any city market across Cambodia.
In Preah Vihear, they can be found in the plentiful food stalls in the northern side of Psar Kompong Pranak Market.
In Cambodia, baguettes are eaten with Pate, tinned sardines or eggs.
Baguettes introduced by the French in Cambodia represent a reminder of the French colonialization in the 20th century, just like baguettes in the neighboring Vietnam.
