GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION
Cambodia covers 181,035 km² in mainland Southeast Asia. It shares borders with Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, and has a 443 km coastline along the Gulf of Thailand. The terrain includes low-lying central plains, the Mekong River basin, and surrounding uplands. Tonlé Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, is a key feature.

CLIMATE
Cambodia experiences a tropical monsoon climate with two main seasons. The wet season runs from May to October, characterized by high humidity and rainfall. The dry season extends from November to April, with the coolest months from December to January. Average temperatures range from 21°C to 35°C.

CURRENCY
The Cambodian Riel (KHR) is the official currency, though the US Dollar is used extensively for most transactions. ATMs dispense both currencies, and credit cards are accepted in larger hotels and restaurants. Exchange rate is approximately 4,000 KHR = 1 USD.

VISA
Tourist visas (valid for 30 days) are available on arrival and via e-visa application. An electronic arrival card is required to be filled online before arrival starting in 2025. Passports must have at least 6 months validity.

MEDICATION
No compulsory vaccinations, but routine immunizations and malaria prophylaxis for rural areas are advised. It is recommended to carry essential prescription drugs and a basic first-aid kit, especially when traveling outside urban centers.
