Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village & Ham Rong Mountain

Your journey begins with a comfortable limousine transfer from Hanoi to the charming mountain town of Sapa via the modern expressway. Upon arrival around midday, meet your local guide and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before checking into your hotel.

In the afternoon, set out on an easy trek to Cat Cat Village, home to the Black H’mong people. Wander through picturesque rice terraces, traditional wooden houses, local handicraft workshops, and the historic hydroelectric station while learning about the culture of the ethnic communities.

Later, continue to Ham Rong Mountain, where a leisurely walk leads to panoramic viewpoints overlooking Sapa town, Muong Hoa Valley, and the surrounding mountains. If time permits, enjoy a traditional cultural performance by local ethnic groups.

The evening is yours to explore Sapa’s lively streets, local food market, cafés, and specialty dishes at your own pace.

Day 2: Sapa – Suoi Ho – Ma Tra – Ta Phin Village Trek

After breakfast, begin a full-day trekking adventure through the scenic countryside surrounding Sapa.

Your first stop is Suoi Ho Village, where you’ll discover authentic H’mong communities, terraced rice fields, grazing buffaloes, and breathtaking mountain scenery. Continue trekking to Ma Tra Village, home to both H’mong and Red Dao people, offering sweeping views across the beautiful valley.

In the afternoon, continue to Ta Phin Village, where the Red Dao and Black H’mong communities have lived together for generations. Learn about their traditional customs, distinctive architecture, herbal medicine, and handicrafts before being warmly welcomed into a local Red Dao family’s home.

Enjoy a home-cooked dinner and experience authentic mountain hospitality during an overnight stay in a traditional stilt house.

Day 3: Ta Phin – Fansipan Cable Car – Hanoi

After breakfast, transfer back to Sapa and head to the Fansipan Cable Car Station.

Ride one of the world’s longest cable cars, ascending above magnificent mountain landscapes to an altitude of nearly 2,800 meters. Visit the impressive Buddhist temple complex before climbing the final stone steps to reach the summit of Fansipan (3,143 m)—the highest peak in Indochina. Take in spectacular panoramic views and capture unforgettable photos.

Return to Sapa for lunch before boarding a limousine back to Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi in the evening and check into your hotel.

Optional: Guests who prefer a trekking experience may replace the Fansipan cable car excursion with additional exploration around Ta Phin Village.

Day 4: Hanoi – Lang Son – Quang Uyen – Cao Bang

Depart Hanoi after breakfast and travel northeast toward the border province of Lang Son.

Along the way, stop at the historic Chi Lang Pass, a strategic gateway famous for Vietnam’s victories against foreign invasions throughout history. Continue to Quy Mon Quan (Gate of Monsters), an ancient military gateway associated with centuries of border defense.

After lunch, visit Dong Khe Historic Site, an important battlefield from the First Indochina War, before continuing through Quang Uyen to Cao Bang.

In the evening, settle into a welcoming local homestay, enjoy a traditional dinner, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of rural northern Vietnam.

Day 5: Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao Cave – Bac Son Valley

Today’s highlight is the breathtaking Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Southeast Asia’s most spectacular border waterfalls.

Travel through dramatic limestone mountains and peaceful valleys before arriving at the falls. Take a relaxing bamboo raft ride close to the cascading water for unforgettable views.

Continue to Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda, perched on a hillside overlooking the waterfall and surrounding karst landscape, before enjoying lunch.

In the afternoon, explore the magnificent Nguom Ngao Cave, famous for its enormous chambers and extraordinary stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Later, journey south to the peaceful Bac Son Valley, where you’ll spend the evening with a local Tay family.

Day 6: Bac Son Valley – Na Lay Mountain

Wake up surrounded by one of northern Vietnam’s most beautiful valleys.

Visit a traditional clay tile workshop to learn how local artisans continue centuries-old construction techniques. Afterwards, begin a scenic trek through peaceful villages, rice fields, and forest trails leading toward Na Lay Mountain.

From the summit, enjoy one of Vietnam’s most iconic panoramic views, overlooking emerald rice fields, winding rivers, traditional Tay stilt houses, and dramatic limestone mountains.

After descending, continue to the tranquil Dang Mo Waterfall, where you can relax amidst beautiful natural surroundings.

Return to your homestay for another delicious home-cooked dinner.

Day 7: Bac Son – Lan Ha Bay Cruise

After breakfast, depart Bac Son for Hai Phong, where you’ll board your luxury cruise to explore the stunning Lan Ha Bay.

Receive a warm welcome from the cruise crew before enjoying lunch while sailing through spectacular limestone islands and hidden lagoons.

In the afternoon, paddle a kayak or swim in the crystal-clear waters around Three Peaches Beach, one of the bay’s most beautiful areas.

As sunset approaches, unwind during Happy Hour before joining a Vietnamese cooking demonstration to learn how to prepare traditional spring rolls.

Enjoy dinner onboard before spending a peaceful night surrounded by the tranquil waters of Lan Ha Bay.

Day 8: Viet Hai Village – Ba Ham Lake

Begin the day with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck as the sun rises over the bay.

Transfer to a day boat and cruise to Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island. Cycle through lush rainforest paths and peaceful countryside before visiting a traditional village home and learning about local island life.

After lunch onboard, continue to Ba Ham Lake, a secluded area surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, where you can kayak or swim if weather conditions permit.

Return to the main cruise in the late afternoon for another spectacular sunset, Happy Hour, and a Vietnamese cooking class before dinner.

Day 9: Dark & Bright Cave – Ninh Binh

Start your final morning on the bay with another Tai Chi session followed by a light breakfast.

Board a traditional rowing boat to explore the peaceful Dark & Bright Cave, gliding through tranquil lagoons surrounded by towering limestone cliffs.

After brunch, disembark and meet your driver for the scenic transfer to Ninh Binh, often referred to as “Halong Bay on Land.”

Check into your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the peaceful countryside or relax after your journey.

Day 10: Trang An Landscape Complex – Mua Cave – Hanoi

After breakfast, discover the UNESCO-listed Trang An Landscape Complex on a traditional sampan boat. Drift through spectacular limestone mountains, peaceful rivers, and enchanting cave systems that have made Trang An one of Vietnam’s most iconic destinations.

Following lunch, visit Mua Cave and climb approximately 500 stone steps to the summit of Ngoa Long (Dragon Mountain). Reward yourself with breathtaking panoramic views over Tam Coc’s rice fields, winding Ngo Dong River, and dramatic karst peaks—one of the finest viewpoints in northern Vietnam.

In the afternoon, return to Hanoi, where your unforgettable Northern Vietnam adventure concludes.
