Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang

Upon your arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, a private driver will be waiting to greet you and transfer you to your hotel in the city center. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure to settle in and unwind.

Day 2: Walking Tour of Luang Prabang & Kuang Si Waterfalls

Begin your day at dawn with the revered Alms Giving Ceremony, a tranquil procession of saffron-robed monks that reflects the deep spiritual heart of Laos. After breakfast, embark on a guided walking tour to explore Luang Prabang’s heritage treasures, including the National Museum, Wat Visoun with its iconic ‘Watermelon Stupa’, and the stunning Wat Xiengthong. You’ll also visit the Arts and Ethnology Centre to gain deeper insight into Laos’ diverse cultural makeup.

In the afternoon, journey into the countryside to visit Khmu, Hmong, and Lao Loum villages before continuing to the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfalls. Here you can enjoy a refreshing dip or a walk along forest trails. Return to town in the early evening, just in time to catch a magical sunset over the Mekong River.

Day 3: Cruise to Pak Ou Caves & Pottery Village

This morning, travel by road to Ban Done Ngeun, then board a traditional boat cruising along the scenic Nam Ou River. Admire the towering limestone mountains before arriving at Pak Ou Caves—mystical sanctuaries filled with thousands of Buddha images left by pilgrims. Continue your river journey down the Mekong to Ban Chan, a peaceful village known for its traditional pottery-making. Arrive back in Luang Prabang in the late afternoon with time to relax and reflect on a day filled with natural beauty and cultural depth.

Day 4: Journey to the Elephant Conservation Center (Join-In Tour)

Depart for Nam Tien Lake and transfer by boat to the Elephant Conservation Center. After checking into your private bungalow, begin your immersive experience with a guided forest walk, passing elephant enclosures and observing a mother and baby at play in the nursery. Visit the on-site hospital to learn about elephant care and rehabilitation, then watch the elephants bathe—an enriching moment to witness their playful, social behavior. Enjoy soft interaction guided by mahouts, followed by a sunset over the lake, optional canoeing, and a Lao-style dinner paired with traditional cocktails.

Day 5: A Day Among Elephants – Forest Walk & Socialization Area

Your second day at the Center takes you deeper into the elephants’ world. Join them on a walk through the forest as they graze and bathe in the morning light. Later, observe them in the Socialization Area—an open space where elephants interact naturally, forming bonds and exhibiting herd behavior. After lunch, witness a target training session led by the vet team using positive reinforcement techniques, offering rare insight into ethical animal care. This intimate day concludes with more time to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.

Day 6: Enrichment Activities & Return to Luang Prabang

Begin your final day with a look at the enrichment activities designed to stimulate the elephants mentally and physically—help prepare hidden food treats and observe the elephants’ problem-solving skills in action. Following lunch, say your farewells to the team and journey back to Luang Prabang by minivan. Check back into your hotel and enjoy a restful evening.

Day 7: Luang Prabang to Siem Reap

Enjoy a leisurely morning before transferring to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Cambodia, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in and an evening at your leisure.

Day 8: Sunrise at Angkor Wat & Full Day Temple Exploration

Start early to witness the sunrise over the iconic towers of Angkor Wat—an awe-inspiring experience. Then explore Angkor Thom, the ancient capital famed for its giant stone faces at Bayon Temple, followed by visits to the Elephant Terrace, Leper King Terrace, and the partially restored Baphuon Temple. In the afternoon, journey to Ta Prohm, where twisted roots engulf temple ruins in dramatic fashion. Conclude with a visit back to Angkor Wat for a deeper look, then end your day watching sunset from Pre Rup temple before returning to your hotel.

Day 9: Rural Life & Tonle Sap Lake Excursion

Travel by tuk-tuk to explore the Cambodian countryside, starting with Krabei Real village and its bustling local market. Ride an ox cart through rice paddies and sandy village roads, visiting homes of rattan weavers and enjoying a traditional Khmer lunch prepared by a local family. Afterward, travel by boat on Tonle Sap Lake to discover floating villages and stilted homes that reveal the adaptive lifestyle of Cambodia’s fishing communities. Return to Siem Reap by evening for overnight stay.

Day 10: Beng Mealea Temple & Phnom Penh Transfer

This morning, head to the mysterious ruins of Beng Mealea—an expansive jungle temple reminiscent of Angkor Wat but far less visited. Wander among fallen galleries and tree-covered towers, evoking the spirit of exploration. Return to Siem Reap for lunch before catching your flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy an introduction to Cambodia’s vibrant capital, a city where colonial charm meets bustling modern life.

Day 11: Phnom Penh by Cyclo & Nightlife Discovery

Explore Phnom Penh by cyclo, visiting the National Museum’s treasures, the Royal Palace, and Silver Pagoda. After lunch, tour Wat Phnom and the lively Central Market. In the late afternoon, walk along the scenic riverside promenade, joining locals in Khmer dance or savoring street snacks. Day 12: The Killing Fields & Tuol Sleng

Today offers a sobering journey into Cambodia’s tragic past. Visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, once a high school turned prison and torture center during the Khmer Rouge regime. Continue to Choeung Ek Killing Fields, where mass graves and a stupa of skulls stand as grim reminders. Despite the dark history, this day is a powerful tribute to resilience and remembrance. Spend the afternoon at your leisure for shopping or personal exploration.
