Ha Long Bay, meaning "descending dragon", a magnificent scenic spot, Vietnam is located in Quang Ninh Province northeast Vietnam, is known for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes topped by rainforests.

Hạ Long Bay is a center of a larger zone which includes Bái Tử Long bay to the northeast, and Cát Bà islands to the southwest.

  • The climate of the bay is tropical, wet, Sea Islands, with two seasons: hot and moist summer, and dry and cold winter. The average temperature is from 15 °C- 25 °C, and annual rainfall is between 2 meters and 2.2 meters. It’s cloudy and rainy in autumn and chilly in winter.

Getting there?

Halong City, Quang Ninh is 55km from Haiphong and 160km from Hanoi. It takes about 3,5-4 hours by car from Hanoi to Halong via Hai Phong or Sao Do (Hai Duong).
